I’ve come across lots of women like her before, usually at the coop or some natural goods store. Very responsible and socially conscious, but not in a made up way. This is just who she is. I could sense she carries the weight of the world on her shoulders, or even within her. Her husband had bought her a portrait session, and she was really not into it. Couldn’t figure out what all the fuss was about, and no, she didn’t want any retouching of her portrait, thank you very much. The world should see her just as she is, she said, wrinkles and all. No falsehoods. She was pretty stiff at first, but then she relaxed a bit as we talked. We got some nice Rembrandt lighting on her, and she said she liked how it gave her a simple, classic look.
