He came in for a headshot over his lunch hour and was very punctual. I’d say he was in his late 50s, maybe a bit older. Life had clearly given him a licking, and he was one of those guys who just kept going. “I’m an old timer,” he said, “and it’s hard to keep up with the young turks with all their internets and gps’es.” That's when he mentioned he had a hip replacement coming up, which is why he listed a bit to one side, and could we compensate for that a bit? We could. I said I felt he was very distinguished looking and that in a world too focused on the next thing, we needed more solid, reliable folks like him. I also said he had a very nice face. That got him to smile, finally.
