Studio Rental

StoryWorkz rents some or all of its studio space to select creatives and professionals. The full space includes:

  • Waiting area with couch, chair, Nespresso coffee bar + fridge
  • Accessible wifi
  • Conference room and table that seats six comfortably, including a large television screen for screen sharing and presentations
  • Changing area for models and subjects
  • Two 20x20 studios with wood floors and large windows (with blackouts)
  • Possible equipment usage, including multiple canvas and paper backdrops, lighting modifiers, c-stands, and light stands, constant LED lighting units, some grip, posing table and chairs

Rental opportunities are limited by the fact that this is also StoryWorkz's studio and workspace. But, if the fit is right, we are happy to work with like-minded and responsible creatives.

Rental Fees

Run of the Studio: This is generally only available on weekends or on weekdays when we will not be in the studio: $500/day.

Hourly Rental of Back Studio: This can be accommodated during normal workdays while we are working in the main studio. Sound and right-of-way issues will need to be worked out ahead of time: $60/hr with a minimum 2-hour booking.

Conference Space Only: This can be accommodated on most days and offers a nice, central downtown Montpelier location to meet with clients or team members. At present the conference room does not have a door, so privacy is limited. $30/hour, one our booking minimum

Studio Rules

A  Rental Agreement will be signed before use of the studio. Some of the general rules and stipulations are below.

  • 50 percent deposit due at time of booking. Remaining rental fees due at end of rental.
  • Fees for additional time that was not billed during the initial booking will be due at the end of the rental period
  • Rental time begins promptly at the prescribed starting time and ends promptly at the prescribed ending time, regardless if renter and/or renter’s party is late.
  • Rental time includes load-in, setup, tear down and cleaning. The studio must be cleaned and vacated by the scheduled end time and no later, please consider this when booking your rental.
  • $75 minimum cleaning fee required for excessively dirty studio and large groups or production crews.
  • Additional charges may apply for nighttime rentals.
  • There is a damage deposit on full-day rentals of $200. Renter is solely responsible for any damage to Company’s property or equipment that occurs during the time Renter or his party occupies the Studio.
  • The renter must have approved liability insurance.
  • Dangerous, pornographic, illegal, or negligent practices or activities are not allowed.
  • All paper and canvas backdrops in the studio may be used with rentals, provided they are properly cared for.
  • Using the white backdrop as a full sweep or roll-out on the floor entails a $50 fee.
  • We can order special colors for you with sufficient notice, and for an additional fee.
  • Coffee and seltzer as stocked in the fridge and Nespresso station are free. Snacks may also be provided.
  • No smoking whatsoever is allowed in the studio, or in the building that houses the studio. Projects involving smoke machines must obtain Company consent.
  • No use of candles or other open flames is allowed.
  • Music must be kept at reasonable levels and noise in the hallways and stairwells must be kept at a low level, in consideration of the fact that this is a mixed-use building that also contains apartments.
  • No one will be admitted to the Studio who is under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances.
  • No pets will be allowed without prior consent.
  • All small and/or hard-to-clean material (confetti, hair cutting, feathers, food products, body paint, etc.) require pre-approval. A cleaning fee will apply.
  • A maximum of 8 people in the renter’s party will be allowed in the Studio and its adjoining hallways at one time during the Rental Period.
