About the Project

Vermont Flannel and StoryWorkz are collaborating on a photography and social media project – The Vermont Maker Project to profile and promote companies that make something unique from scratch, or nearly from scratch. It will include farmers and bakers, instrument makers and sugar makers, people who make sauces or fancy bags, people who make chocolate or beautiful knives.

To participate, the maker should have an active business in Vermont and be active on social media.

Makers will be featured every two weeks on the Vermont Flannel and StoryWorkz social media channels, with copious cross-linking to the featured maker’s channels. The feature will consist of an environmental portrait captured by StoryWorkz, along with a few process or product images to illustrate the story. A short text will accompany the photos to tell the maker’s story, aspirations, inspirations, etc.

To ensure the stories have a longer life, we will also be posting them on our micro-site (vermontmakerproject.com).

For the portrait and/or process photos, the maker will wear a Vermont Flannel product, which they will get to keep after the shoot is over.

It is not expected that the shoot + interview will take longer than 30 minutes, and will be scheduled a week or more in advance, to accommodate everyone’s busy schedule.
